Leon O'Brien
Founder, Products & Services Director
Leon is an ICT Strategy, Architecture and consulting professional who delights in driving the adoption and implementation of innovative solutions that achieve the best possible outcomes for organisations.
He has been fortunate enough to work with some amazing organisations and colleagues throughout his 30 years of experience across a wide range of industries and public sector agencies.
As an IEEE Senior Member for over 10 years, Leon is abreast of the cutting edge of technology solutions and innovation approaches to real world problems. His experience as Lead Architect in the implementation of significant enterprise class software solutions, critical line of business applications, and network communications technologies in geographically remote locations means his skillset is as diverse as it is robust.
Leon now focuses his spare time on real-world Artificial Intelligence solutions for business impact. Not just large-language models (LLMS) but the range of machine learning algorithms that play a key role in enterprise environments.
Mandy Donaldson
Founder, Operations Director
With over a decade of experience in founding and leading businesses, I love creating organisations where employees have the freedom to thrive and meaningfully contribute. This isn't a new ethos, but I think good leaders have a joy for leading people to a common goal, whether that's a team of remote software developers trying to solve complex environmental problems or managing a newly blended family of six! With four now adult children, I'm mostly dedicated to the former, although being a parent is a career you don't ever get (or want) to leave.
A good leader also understands the timeless value of hard work and dogged persistence. A stubborn and strong-willed refusal to quit has always stood me in good stead as a business founder.
A background in Accounting and Bookkeeping, and then in Commercial Services and Sales before founding and running businesses while managing a family of six makes you a perfectionist planner and organiser – I firmly believe clear processes steer the world to becoming a better place (you should see my pantry).
Our History
Knowble represents the merger of two complementary strengths: Sustainable ICT’s deep heritage in strategic consulting and enterprise architecture, and Knowble’s agile product development capability.
Originally established to guide large-scale ICT design and infrastructure strategy for top-tier clients—such as BHP, Santos, Origin Energy, Microsoft Consulting and BDO Australia—our firm recognised that modern businesses need both strategic direction and the tools to execute it.
In 2020, we broadened our model to combine advisory services with product engineering. This capability was demonstrated through DEE, a specialised platform designed to help a major global resource company overcome intricate environmental data management hurdles across its mine sites.
Today, Knowble operates as a unified entity, delivering right-sized consulting, resilient architecture, and bespoke technology solutions designed for measurable impact.
